The European food safety agency EFSA launched two calls for tests last October to collect information for scientific opinions on the welfare of turkeys and cattle on farms, in response to a mandate from the European Commission. Interested parties have until January 31 to share evidence, for which EFSA has provided two different links for data from farmed cattle and turkey farms. These calls for evidence follow a stakeholder meeting in Brussels, providing an opportunity for interested parties to learn about EFSA's work on animal welfare and engage in a technical discussion on the data and sources used for scientific advice.
