In the 2022/23 season, Egypt became the largest supplier of sweet potatoes to Scandinavia for the first time in history, surpassing the Netherlands, the USA, and Spain. Egyptian exporters were able to provide about a third of all sweet potato imports in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The increase in exports to Scandinavia has been significant, with supplies from Egypt to the region increasing 51 times since the 2017/18 season.
