The National Food Safety Authority’s media center has released its 12th weekly report for 2024, highlighting food export and import activities from March 16 to 22. The report reveals that 4,680 food consignments, totaling about 235,000 tons, were exported by 1,700 companies, with potatoes and citrus fruits being the most exported items. The main recipients of these exports were Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy. On the other hand, Egypt received 1,765 food consignments, amounting to about 511,000 tons, from 690 companies, with Russia being the largest exporter to Egypt. The report also provided information on food registration, licensing, inspections, and complaints.
