Egypt has significantly increased its potato production by expanding cultivation into new desert regions. These areas have higher productivity and produce potatoes suitable for export, leading to an estimated increase in production of about 2.5 million tons, according to the CEO of Alhabony Group. However, there are varying predictions for harvest estimates and export volumes among producers, with some anticipating a potato shortage due to frost, while others expect substantial exports due to high demand and the devaluation of the Egyptian pound.
