Egypt has achieved a new milestone in its grape exports to the European Union, reaching a record high of 70,000 tonnes in 2023 and projected to reach 75,000 tonnes in 2024. The Netherlands and Germany are the primary importers, accounting for 70-75% of Egypt's grape exports. Other countries such as Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, and Spain also import Egyptian grapes. Egypt's seasonal advantage positions it as the main supplier of fresh grapes to the EU during certain months, despite competition from local fruits. The country has established itself as one of the five largest exporters of fresh grapes to the EU, with only South Africa, Peru, India, and Chile exporting more.
