Egypt has seen a significant increase in orange exports to Canada, recording 9 thousand tons in the first quarter of 2024, a major achievement and a record for the year, surpassing the entire year's export of 7.6 thousand tons in 2023. This growth positions Egypt as a potential third-largest supplier of oranges to Canada, following the USA and South Africa, as imports from traditional suppliers Spain and Morocco have seen a decline. Egypt's success is largely due to competitive pricing, but in order to maintain and grow its market share, the country must focus on other aspects of successful sales. Canada, being the world's fourteenth largest importer of oranges, presents an opportunity for high-priced citrus fruit sales, offering potential for further growth for Egyptian suppliers.
