Egypt is implementing a new coding and tracking system for fresh agricultural exports, including citruses, strawberries, grapes, pomegranate, guava, onions, and other products. The system, supervised by the Egyptian agricultural quarantine, replaces the system of private conformity companies. Last year, Egypt ranked eighth in total agricultural exports, with 29,726 tons, and has been the world's leading exporter of oranges and strawberries for the third year in a row. The new system aims to ensure farmers use good agricultural practices, meet import requirements, and apply international plant health standards. It also uses satellite technology to track exported shipments from the farm to the importing country.
