Ekiti State's Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has announced a 50% subsidy on oil palm, cocoa, and cashew seedlings to be distributed to farmers during the planting season. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to boost tree crop production, create employment, and generate wealth. The Tree Crops Department of the Ministry will distribute the seedlings, and farmers will also receive support with agrochemicals to prevent diseases and increase yield. The subsidy scheme is aimed at reviving Ekiti State's cocoa industry, which was formerly one of the most prominent in Nigeria.
