The article highlights a significant collaboration between Embrapa, Brazil's agricultural research corporation, and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) of the United Arab Emirates, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding to embark on a joint venture in international agricultural research. This partnership aims to tackle five key areas of mutual interest, including soilless cultivation of vegetables, cassava and fruit production under saline conditions, genetic research on salinity-tolerant genotypes, genetic improvement of fruit plants and forage under salt stress, and biological control of insect pests. The partnership will be characterized by various forms of cooperation, such as research projects, expert exchanges, conference organization, scholarships for researchers, and the potential for Technical Cooperation Projects involving several Embrapa units. This collaboration is seen as a step towards knowledge exchange and adaptation of advanced practices to the unique environmental challenges of both countries.
