On September 30, 2025, "Hoengseong Hanwoo," a premium Korean beef brand, made history by becoming the first domestic brand to be exported to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), opening a new horizon for entry into the Middle East market. This export is seen as an important milestone, marking the expansion of Korea's livestock industry into the global market, rather than just a simple product export. The exported Hoengseong Hanwoo was produced by the Hoengseong Livestock Cooperative, the result of years of close collaboration between Hoengseong County, local Hanwoo farmers, producer groups, and private companies. The foundation for the export of Hoengseong Hanwoo was laid in January 2025 when Hoengseong KC Corp. became the first domestic company to receive UAE halal certification for its slaughterhouse.
