Agro-industrial chains continue to occupy a structural role in the Argentine economy. According to a report by the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR), agriculture and its associated activities account for around 20% of the country's value added, one in every five jobs, nearly 20% of national revenue, and three out of every five dollars that enter through exports. In terms of wealth generation, the BCR pointed out that in 2024 the agro-industrial chains represented 18% of the national Gross Value Added (GVA). In concrete numbers, they contributed “1.8 pesos out of every 10 pesos of Gross Value Added”, an increase from 2023, when the historic drought brought the sector's participation to a minimum of 16%, the lowest level since 2004.
