In mid-December last year, Bichos de Campo reported that Brazil had initiated an investigation, considering that it had "sufficient elements indicating the practice of dumping in the exports of powdered milk from Argentina and Uruguay to Brazil." This was a suspicion of undervaluation of the products entering that country. In Argentina, the companies that could have been affected by the measure of applying dumping tariffs were Mastellone Hnos., Noal SA, Gloria Argentina SA; and L3N SA (Adecoagro). From Uruguay, those involved in the investigation were Conaprole, Estancias del Lago SRL; and Alimentos Fray Bentos. Inquiries were made to other exporters and importers, and even to those involved who could appeal the criteria set forth by Brazil, however, no companies producing powdered milk from that destination were presented.
