Entre Ríos: the late corn shows good condition, but the weather is starting to raise alarms

74% of the late and second maize is in Good and Very Good condition in the province. However, the later plantings show signs of water stress and pest pressure, in a scenario where rainfall will be decisive. Late and second maize advances in Entre Ríos with a mostly positive balance, although with warning signs ahead. According to Weekly Report No. 1216 of the Information System of the Entre Ríos Cereal Exchange (SIBER), 74% of the planted area presents a condition between Good and Very Good. The area planted with this type of maize is estimated at 20,000 hectares, concentrated mainly in lots planted on early dates. The survey shows a wide variability in the development of the crop. The phenological stages range from V2, in plantings carried out at the beginning of January, to V10, in lots planted during December.
