The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia has cleared 856,438 live livestock (sheep, cows, camels) for the Hajj season, bringing the total to 2.65 million. The ministry is ensuring the import of healthy and safe livestock by following strict procedures, coordinating with authorities, and updating health controls. There are 10 quarantines at Saudi Arabian border crossings and about 13 international quarantines in countries of origin. Livestock is quarantined until all procedures are completed and the national vaccination program is implemented. Saudi Arabia imports livestock from over 30 countries, including Africa, Europe, and South America.
