Rural producers in Rondônia are being guided on how to resume commercialization and access more demanding markets through environmental regularization. The initiative comes from JBS’s Green Offices, which promote events across the state, such as the one recently held in Pimenta Bueno. According to JBS’s sustainability analyst, Luana Fim, the process begins with updating the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and joining the Environmental Regularization Program (PRA). Property monitoring is done through satellite images and socio-environmental data, in partnership with the company Agrotour, which cross-references information from agencies such as Ibama, ICMBio, Funai, and IBGE. “When the producer regularizes, they return to the market with a demonstrably sustainable product, ready to meet the requirements of countries like the European Union and the United Kingdom,” explained Luana Fim.
