Ethiopia has experienced a notable increase in coffee exports and revenues, with a total of 298,000 tons exported and earning $1.43 billion in the last fiscal year. The country aims to further increase its exports by 100,000 tons, reaching 400,000 tons this year and generating over $2 billion in revenue. This growth is attributed to the government's economic reforms and the improvement in the coffee supply chain, allowing for direct communication and trade between suppliers and exporters. Ethiopia, being the fifth-largest coffee producer in the world and the largest in Africa, relies significantly on coffee production, with around 20 million people depending on it for their livelihood.
