In 2022, the European Union's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) received 578 alerts regarding the excessive presence of pesticides in fruit and vegetables from various countries, including 292 alerts from Turkey, which accounted for 50.52% of these alerts. The most common alerts were for peppers, lemons, grapes, and mandarins from Turkey, and the majority of these samples were destroyed upon reaching the EU community borders. Other countries like Egypt, India, Uganda, Kenya, China, Thailand, Madagascar, Ecuador, and Iran also contributed to these alerts.
