The West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP) Ghana, primarily funded by the European Union (EU), is set to revolutionize the mango industry through the construction of a greenhouse nursery at Cotton-Weblink Portfolio Limited in Trom, Eastern Region. This initiative, highlighted during the EU Celebration Week, signifies a significant effort to enhance the sector's growth and productivity. The greenhouse, which has already seen three batches of seedlings produced and sold, has been pivotal in combating the Black Bacteria Spot disease, reducing the gestation period, and increasing seedling survival rates. With 16,000 seedlings already sold and plans to expand to Brong Ahafo region, this project is poised to make a substantial impact on Ghana's mango industry.
