The Thai Ambassador has signed an agreement with the EU to allocate a tariff quota on 28 items following Brexit, expected to be effective in June. This agreement aims to maintain the same benefits for Thai exporters, with a focus on agricultural and fishery products. The quota will be distributed between the EU and the UK, with negotiations ongoing for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to increase the quota and reduce tax on these products. In the period 2017-2020, trade between Thailand and the EU averaged 1,400,178 million baht per year, with major exports including poultry products, rice, cassava, and flavored fish.
