Strategie Grains has lowered its forecast for the EU sunseed crop to 8.8 million tons, a 11% decrease from last year and the lowest since 2016, due to rainy weather hindering harvest in France and disappointing results in Romania. However, the consultancy maintains its estimate for the EU rapeseed crop at 16.7 million tons, a 16.5% decrease from last year. The early stages of rapeseed maturation are seen as favorable, and field conditions are mostly favorable for the main oilseed crop in the early parts of next year, with a predicted increase in areas by 4%.
