European soybean production is expected to surpass last year's records with the inclusion of Ukraine, which is set to increase its production by 25 percent to 5.9 million tonnes. Despite challenges like disappointing yields due to extreme weather conditions in Central and eastern Europe, which have resulted in a 3.4 percent decrease in the total soybean harvest to less than 2.8 million tons, the expanded area in Ukraine and other countries like Germany, thanks to new cultivation varieties, are expected to offset these losses, leading to a EU soybean harvest over 13 million tons.
