A pan-European study titled 'Resilience for Dairy' has proposed improving technical efficiency on dairy farms to enhance resilience to environmental, economic, and social challenges. The research identifies a variety of needs and solutions to support farmers, including economic viability, environmental care, and improved animal welfare. It highlights the importance of adopting sustainable production systems and integrating the dairy sector into a more sustainable and socially-oriented production model. The study also emphasizes the need for open communication with society and the exploration of higher added value products. A self-sustaining network has been established to share knowledge on resilient practices, with the project involving research universities and institutes from the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and France, and spanning fifteen European countries.
