While beef, veal, lamb, and goat saw price increases under 15%, poultry and pork prices fluctuated more significantly. By February 2024, meat prices had risen in most European Union countries compared to the previous year, with notable increases over 7% in Bulgaria, Romania, and Croatia. In contrast, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Denmark experienced declines in meat prices, highlighting a varied inflation landscape across the EU.
