European wine exports to Russia are at a 20-year low

EU wine imports to Russia have experienced a significant decline, dropping by 25% to reach their lowest level in 20 years, with only 126,000 tonnes imported from the start of 2023. This represents a stark contrast to the previous record low in 2004, when only 87,000 tonnes were imported. The current import levels are markedly lower than the previous year, highlighting a substantial reduction in the volume of European wine entering the Russian market.
