Statistics Norway's new report reveals a decline in the number of farms, agricultural area, and livestock in Norway over the last year and decade. In 2020, there was a 1.5% decrease in the number of farms, a 17.4% decrease since 2010, and a 23.1% and 22.4% decrease in the number of 'Cow' and 'Pigs in total' farms, respectively. Despite this, the average agricultural area per farm has increased, as has the number of suckler cows. The grain area in Norway also saw an increase last year, the first since 2016, reaching 2.79 million decares.
