The Peru Cup of Excellence 2025 competition closed its international electronic auction with a historic figure: $490,752, the highest amount ever recorded by the event, according to the official platform of the Alliance for Coffee Excellence. This result allowed 8.2 tons of specialty coffee in microlots to be acquired by buyers from Asia, Europe, and North America, consolidating Peru as a prominent origin in the global market for high-quality coffees. In this edition, three producers assisted by the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) managed to place among the top 30 coffees in Peru, after achieving scores above 87 points in the international cupping round. Their presence in the auction demonstrates the progress of hundreds of families that strengthen their legal economies through the production of specialty coffee as part of the Comprehensive and Sustainable Alternative Development.
