Excessive rainfall compromises sweet potato quality in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Sweet potato production in the Lajeado region, especially in the municipality of Feliz, is in the off-season, according to the Informativo Conjuntural released by Emater/RS-Ascar last Thursday (24). Some producers managed to keep production active through staggered plantings throughout the year. However, excessive rainfall has compromised the quality of the tuber, resulting in a product that does not reach the usual standard.
