Exchange of knowledge strengthens agroecological cotton

The month of January was marked by an intense exchange of information and deepening of knowledge about the production of cotton in organic and agroecological systems, in activities held at Embrapa Cotton, in Campina Grande, Paraíba. On the 28th and 29th, the unit received consultants, technicians, and leaders of family agriculture from the Agro Sertão project, from Rio Grande do Norte, for a training course on Participatory Learning and Research Units, a methodology that integrates scientific knowledge and traditional knowledge, respecting the environment and local realities. The Agro Sertão project brings together different institutions and has been promoting the recovery of cotton farming in Rio Grande do Norte based on agroecology, without the use of chemical products and with regenerative practices aimed at the conservation of the soil, the biodiversity of the caatinga, and the health of the communities.
