Exchange trade in sugar in the Russian Federation grew 2.2 times in 2023

INTERFAX.RU - The volume of sugar trading on Russian exchange platforms in 2023 amounted to 322 thousand tons, which is 2.2 times more than in 2022 (146 thousand tons), reports Soyuzrossahar with reference to data from NTB JSC (part of Moscow Exchange group) and JSC SPbMTSB. At the same time, 17.6 thousand tons of sugar were sold at commodity auctions. In December, 27.3 thousand tons of sugar were sold on exchanges, which is 9.1 thousand tons more than a year earlier. According to Soyuzrossahar, five national commodity exchanges trade sugar in the CIS. In addition to the Russian NTB JSC and SPbMTSB JSC, these are the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange JSC, the Eurasian Trading System (ETS) commodity exchange in Kazakhstan and the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) JSC.
