The Russian Federation plans to increase excise tax rates on strong alcohol, wines, fortified wines, and sparkling wines, including Russian champagne, in the years 2025 to 2027. The rates for cider, poire, and mead will remain the same. Beer and beer drinks with an ethyl alcohol content between 0.5% and 8.6% will continue to be taxed at the same rates, but those with higher alcohol content will be subject to progressively higher tax rates.
