Brazil has emerged as one of the leading onion producers in Latin America, with its national production surpassing 1.6 million tons in 2023, as reported by IBGE. The country's production is primarily concentrated in the South, Northeast, and Central-West regions, with Santa Catarina being the leading producer. The success of the onion market in Brazil is largely due to the adoption of hybrid cultivars, which offer benefits such as pest and disease resistance, higher planting density, and increased productivity. Agristar do Brasil's Topseed Premium line has been a significant contributor to this success, introducing 12 hybrid cultivar varieties that have demonstrated high effectiveness and quality in Brazilian farming conditions.
