Experts at the European Commission have raised estimates for wheat and corn harvests in the European Union for the 2025-2026 agricultural season, which began on July 1, while lowering the estimate for barley production in the community. The forecast for cereal production in the member states as a whole is for a total of 286.9 million tons compared to 253.9 million tons in the previous season. Regarding wheat, the estimate has been increased by 800,000 tons from last month to 134.2 million tons compared to 110.9 million tons in the 2024-2025 season.
