Interfax-Ukraine reports, noting that this means the potato harvest is 50% higher than last year's, according to Mykola Furdyha, the director of the Institute of Potato Farming. "To calculate how much we produce in potatoes is very simple. If the average exit price from farms is 8 UAH/kg, and last year it was 20 UAH/kg, then we have, I think, 50% more production: the production areas have expanded by 25% and the yield due to weather conditions has increased by 25%," the agency quotes the scientist.
