The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), in collaboration with CIRAD and REDPPAL, has convened a virtual conference to promote the use of bio-inputs in agriculture. The conference aims to foster regional unification in criteria for bio-inputs, which are crucial for enhancing trade, boosting productivity, and reducing production costs. Bio-inputs, a key aspect of the bioeconomy, can replace traditional, polluting production models with more sustainable and profitable practices. However, the complexity of regulations across countries needs to be simplified to facilitate wider adoption. The conference will delve into the benefits, regulatory frameworks, and future perspectives of bio-inputs in the Americas and Mexico, highlighting their potential to transform agriculture towards a more sustainable and profitable future.
