Experts have increased their estimates for the oilseed harvest in the EU

EU countries can harvest about 32.8 million major oilseeds in the current agricultural year (for oilseeds, September alternates in each calendar year). This was reported by the analytical agency Oleoscope with reference to data from Stratégie Grains. This is one and a half million tons higher than the 2022-23 agricultural year. The largest share of production may come from rapeseed – experts estimate its harvest at 19.7 million tons. This is 200 thousand more than both the previous estimate and the past agricultural season (the same as the agricultural year - ROSNG). The forecast was raised based on higher crop yields than previously expected by analysts in Germany, Romania and France.
