Analysts at Refinitiv have lowered their production forecast for soft wheat in the European Union to 125.6 million tons for the 2024-2025 agricultural season, citing lower-than-expected wheat acreage in France due to excessive rainfall. This prediction is more than 2 million tonnes below the current season's harvested crop, and experts believe the downward correction is a result of difficult field work in France. However, warmer weather and sufficient rainfall in the short term are expected to benefit the development of autumn crops across Europe.
