In Ukraine, the mass collection of potatoes for long-term storage concludes at the end of October, but expectations for the 2025 harvest are already optimistic. This is reported by The Page. According to forecasts from the Institute of Agrarian Economics, the gross potato harvest will be at least 20 million tons. This is a higher figure than in 2024, when the potato harvest decreased by 18% due to adverse weather conditions. The volume of the 2025 potato harvest is expected to fully cover domestic needs. The level of potato consumption in Ukraine will be at least 130 kg per person per year, exceeding the rational norm of 124 kg. Production areas have increased by 10–20% compared to 2024 following last year's potato crop failure caused by record heat.
