In March 2022, Vietnam witnessed a significant surge in cassava and cassava product exports, with a 79.4% increase in volume, 94% in turnover, and an 8.2% increase in price compared to the previous month. The cassava chip export alone saw a 31.8% rise in volume and a 38.3% increase in turnover. The Chinese market absorbs 93% of the total export volume and value, despite challenges like high logistics costs and competition from other countries. To sustain this growth and address industry limitations, the article highlights the need for a diversified export market and domestic consumption strategy. It also emphasizes the importance of improving yield and processing efficiency, particularly in the face of increasing demand and potential import barriers from China.
