Russia's agricultural exports have seen a significant increase of nearly 14% in the first nine months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, totaling around $20 billion. This surge is attributed to the country's strategy to support its agro-industrial sector, aiming to satisfy domestic food requirements and decrease import reliance. Some of the main importers include China, Turkey, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Egypt. Despite this, overall imports to Russia have dipped by 1.6% to $20.3 billion. The export volume has notably reduced the trade gap with 88 states, with Russia exporting agricultural products to 20 countries. The trade relationship with China has strengthened, with exports to China rising by 24.1% to $2.8 billion, while imports from China have decreased by 13.3% to $1.05 billion.
