In 2022, the Moscow Region saw a significant increase in flour exports, with a nine-fold increase to 64.6 thousand tons compared to 2021. The cost of these exports also rose by over six times. The majority of the exports consisted of wheat-rye flour, followed by cereals and wholemeal flour from corn and corn flour. Georgia became the largest importer of Russian flour, increasing its purchases by nearly five times, followed by Iraq and Afghanistan. The Moscow region's bakery enterprises received over 128 million rubles in subsidies in 2022 to help with the production of social bread.
