The export price of pollock has reached a six-year low and has fallen to 2017 levels due to uncertainty in the global market caused by numerous restrictions on the supply of Russian fish and products made from it to the EU and the USA. The European Council has excluded fish products from Russia from the autonomous tariff quota scheme for 2024-2026, and these products will be subject to a duty of 13.7% from 2024. The UK is considering introducing a duty of 35% on products made from pollock of Russian origin. The price of Russian pollock fillet on the European market has decreased by 45% compared to the beginning of 2023, and the price of frozen pollock when supplied to China has decreased by 25%.
