The Arab countries' progress in COVID-19 vaccinations has led to an 18.2% increase in exports from Brazil to the region in the first quarter of the year, reaching USD 2.91 billion, according to the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. This includes a 22.5% increase in volume, with key exports being food items and iron ore. The most significant growth was seen in soy and maize exports, increasing by 147.98% and 132.67% respectively. The demand for foodstuffs in the region is expected to stay high as tourism resumes with increasing vaccination rates in other countries. Bahrain, the second-largest recipient of Brazilian products in the Arab market in Q1, saw a 96% increase in imports from Brazil.
