In 2020, Iran exported 324,589 kilograms of saffron to 60 countries, generating revenue of $190.32 million. The UAE, Hong Kong, Spain, China, and Afghanistan were the top buyers, accounting for 18.4%, 23%, 15%, 12.3%, and 10.4% of the total weight and value of the exports, respectively. Together, these five countries purchased 79% of the weight and 78% of the total value of the saffron exported.
