In October 2024, Brazil hit record highs in chicken meat and egg exports, with a 15.4% increase in chicken meat sales and double the egg exports of the previous year. The USDA credits this growth to competitive pricing and Brazil's disease-free status. Despite this, there was a 4.4% decrease in chicken meat exports in October compared to September. Strong domestic demand has led to a rise in chicken meat prices, but an increase in corn and soybean meal prices has reduced the purchasing power of São Paulo poultry farmers. Egg exports saw significant growth, particularly in industrialized eggs, with Chile being the main recipient.
