In May, Turkey saw a significant growth in its fresh fruit and vegetable exports, reaching a value of $284 million with a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. The country sold 354,282 tons of produce internationally, with the Mediterranean Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters (AKIB) contributing 43% to this total. The main export markets were Russia, Iraq, and Germany, with the largest exports being peaches, sweet cherries, and tomatoes. The exports to Iraq and Germany experienced substantial growth of 339% and 126% respectively.
