In the first half of 2024, Turkey's fresh fruits, vegetables, and fruit and vegetable products sectors experienced a 9% increase in exports, generating around 3.8 billion dollars of foreign currency. This figure represents 51% of the year's target of 6 billion dollars. The volume of fresh fruit and vegetable exports slightly increased by 1% to 1.718 billion dollars, while fruit and vegetable product exports surged by 20% to 1.290 billion dollars. The Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association saw a 4% increase in exports, reaching 618 million dollars. Russia and the United States were the primary markets for these exports. The country's leadership in the production and export of various fruits and vegetables, including being the world's leading exporter of pickles in fruit and vegetable products, is highlighted. The TURQUALITY and URGE projects are mentioned as key initiatives in boosting exports. Notably, exports to Iraq saw a significant increase of 200%, from 50 million to 200 million dollars.
