In 2023, Moroccan exports of frozen fruits and vegetables saw a significant decline due to adverse weather conditions and intense international competition. The frozen strawberry segment was hit the hardest, with exports falling to 45,000 tonnes between January and October. Frozen raspberry exports also decreased due to a surplus in the European Union market. Despite an increase in frozen vegetable exports, they only made up about 6% of the total volume. The European Union remained the main importer of Moroccan frozen products, but sales to both the EU and North America fell significantly.
