In 2023, Germany's cheese exports rose by 6% to a record 1.4 million tons, with Italy, the Netherlands, and France as the main buyers. There was also a significant increase in exports of bulk milk and cream by nearly 30% to 1.35 million tons, and condensed milk exports grew by a fifth. However, exports of fresh dairy products and whole milk powder saw a slight decrease. Despite the rise in export volumes, the total value of German dairy exports fell by about EUR 340 million, or 3%, to EUR 11.60 billion due to lower sales prices.
