From January 1 to June 12, 2024, Turkey experienced a 94% increase in peach and nectarine exports, reaching $33 million compared to the previous year. This growth is part of a consistent annual trend, with exports growing from $90 million in 2019 to $203.5 million in 2023. The Aegean Sea Exporters Association and the Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Association are planning to further increase peach and nectarine exports to over $250 million in 2024. The country, being the world's third largest peach producer and second exporter, is currently working on obtaining phytosanitary certificates with countries in the Far East with the potential to increase exports up to $500 million.
