In the 2019/20 season, Russia experienced a significant boost in refined sunflower oil exports, with a 32% increase compared to the previous season, totaling 720 thousand tons across the Customs Union. Uzbekistan emerged as the top buyer, importing 179 thousand tons, a 14% increase from the previous season. Afghanistan's imports of Russian refined sunflower oil also saw a substantial rise, doubling to 82 thousand tons. Belarus rounded out the top three importers with a 6% increase, bringing in 68 thousand tons. However, the share of refined sunflower oil in Russia's total sunflower oil export volume decreased to 18% in the 2019/20 season, down from 21% in the previous season, due to a surge in unrefined product exports.
